Your ATS holds years of people who already showed interest: applicants you didn't have a role for, finalists who took another offer, clinicians who applied to a different department. Talent rediscovery brings them into Betterleap, where you can search them the same way you search new candidates and put them straight into an outreach sequence.
What you get
Once your ATS is connected:
- A data source called "ATS Talent Rediscovery" on the New project screen and under Data sources on the Search page. Pick it alone to source only from your own past candidates, or together with Betterleap data to blend both.
- ATS details on every rediscovered candidate: the requisition they applied to, the application date, the req ID, and their resume and other files, straight from the ATS. Previous applications are listed too. See Running a Talent Rediscovery Project.
Rediscovered candidates follow the same rules as everyone else: your Do Not Contact list and unsubscribes apply, cross-project contact rules apply, and candidates who opted out inside your ATS are excluded when their records are loaded.
Getting connected
The connection is set up by the Betterleap team, at the organization level, so it's available to every recruiter in your workspace. Until it's done, the option on the New project screen reads "Contact Betterleap's team to connect your ATS".
Email [email protected] or your account manager with the name of your ATS. Depending on the system, you'll need one of two things from your ATS administrator:
- A direct connection, authorized by an admin in your ATS.
- A scheduled export of your candidate records, delivered to a secure transfer location we provide. This works with any ATS and doesn't require an integration.
Both keep your candidates current: new applicants appear after each sync.

Frequently asked questions
Does Betterleap write anything back to our ATS?
It can. A standard connection reads from your ATS; bidirectional sync, so that candidates and their status flow back into your ATS as well, is something we set up with you. Reach out to your Betterleap account manager to discuss it and get it enabled.
Can we limit which candidates are shared?
Yes. The export or connection can be scoped, for example to applications from the last three years, or to specific departments. Agree the scope with us during setup.
How do I know a candidate came from our ATS?
They carry an ATS label on their card and profile, with the requisition and application date underneath.
